Atlanta's Next Guardian: James Donaldson Signs with ATL UTD 2

At just 16 years old, James Donaldson—the towering, assured goalkeeper from Nashville—has taken another significant leap in his ascent: he’s officially signed with Atlanta United 2 through the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro season, becoming set to hold a Homegrown Player contract with the first team starting January 1, 2027. Internationally, he’s already represented the U.S. U‑15 Youth National Team several times, and holds dual eligibility—for the United States and England.
