Austyn Jones is making the most of his opportunities at Jong PSV, with the young striker continuing to find the net in the Dutch second division. The 18-year-old has scored five goals in nine appearances this season, including his latest strike in a 1-1 draw against Roda JC on October 9. His current form is another step forward in a career that has already seen him progress through PSV’s academy and earn opportunities in professional football.
Jones has become a regular option for Jong PSV after making his professional debut during the previous campaign. He scored four goals in 17 appearances in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie last season, and his current scoring rate represents a notable improvement. His development has also earned recognition from the club: in June, PSV extended his contract through 2029, highlighting its confidence in his long-term potential.
The forward joined PSV from FC Utrecht in 2023 and has progressed through the club’s youth setup, including appearances in the UEFA Youth League. His development has now carried over to Jong PSV, where he is gaining experience against senior opposition while building a stronger goalscoring record. At 18, he is continuing to establish himself in a competitive environment that can serve as an important bridge toward first-team football.

Internationally, Jones has also been involved with the Netherlands. He was called up to the Dutch U-19 squad for its September and October fixtures and made his U-19 debut against Belgium on September 24. He has previously represented the Netherlands at U-16 and U-17 levels, giving him experience across multiple age groups within the Dutch national-team structure.
However, the United States remains a potential international avenue for Jones. Jones has also been involved with the United States youth national team, having participated in a U-17 USYNT training camp. That experience adds another layer to his international background, having been part of the American setup while also progressing through the Netherlands’ youth teams.

For now, Jones’ focus remains on maintaining his form with Jong PSV and continuing his development in the Netherlands. His involvement with the United States U-17 setup means the USMNT pathway is already part of his story, even as he gains further international experience with the Dutch youth teams. With five goals in nine appearances, he is giving both his club and the federations monitoring his progress plenty to follow.
The next step will be to see whether he can sustain that scoring rate as the season progresses and continue earning opportunities at a higher level within PSV’s structure. Consistency will be important as he looks to turn his promising start into a more established role in professional football. At the same time, his experience with both national-team environments gives his development an added dimension, with no immediate need to make assumptions about where his senior international future will lead.
For the United States, Jones is a prospect worth keeping on the radar. His previous involvement with the U-17 program provides a connection to the American pathway, while his performances in the Netherlands are helping him gain valuable experience against senior opposition. His ultimate international decision remains unknown, but one thing is clear: if he continues producing at Jong PSV, his progress will be worth following closely on both sides of the Atlantic.
