Sixteen-year-old goalkeeper Leonard Prescott has been included in the matchday squad for FC Bayern Munich ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Atalanta BC.

The New York-born shot-stopper, who stands at 6’5”, joined Bayern in 2023 from Union Berlin’s youth system. Prescott has already trained with Bayern’s senior team and previously made the roster for a January friendly against RB Salzburg.
At the international level, Prescott currently represents the German national U17 team but remains eligible for both Germany and the United States.

Even squad inclusion at a club like Bayern is a meaningful signal in the player pathway. For a 16-year-old goalkeeper — one of the slowest-developing positions — exposure to a Champions League match environment indicates elite internal evaluation. With dual-national eligibility, Prescott is also emerging as a potential future recruitment battle between the U.S. and Germany.
